If you do not already have a compatible crypto wallet, please download your chosen wallet.
Gamma also supports the following wallet platforms:
In this FAQ, operations will be shown on Metamask's Chrome extension.
To purchase GAMMA, you must own an ERC-20 compatible cryptocurrency that you can exchange for it. Gamma currently has liquidity in GAMMA-ETH, so purchasing Ethereum is the cheapest transaction. Stablecoins and other cryptocurrencies can be traded for GAMMA, but will have a slightly higher gas price.
You also need to make sure you have some Ethereum in your wallet to pay for the transaction costs (gas) of the swap.
GAMMA is currently listed on Uniswap V3:
Shown below in the Uniswap V3 Information page for GAMMA. GAMMA can only be bought and sold on Ethereum Layer-one Mainnet (top right). Any other networks (Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism) are not supported.
You can choose the trade button to go to the trading interface (blue button), or you can choose the pool below (GAMMA/ETH - 0.3%) for more information about the native trading pair.
Below is the supported GAMMA-ETH pair on Uniswap. Here, you'll find more information about the trading pair. Again, you can proceed by clicking the blue TRADE button in the top right of the screen.
After using the TRADE button to navigate to the trading interface, it's time to connect your wallet to Uniswap V3.
Note that the native pair has already been selected for you. If you don't see GAMMA or ETH, you can choose them from the drop-down menu. To make sure you're choosing the right token, search the term "GAMMA" or input the token contract address shown below:

Now that we have the proper tokens, it's time to connect our wallet. In this case, we are choosing to connect a Metamask wallet.
Your Metamask extension will then open and prompt you to connect to a wallet of your choosing.
You will then be prompted to connect your Metamask wallet to Uniswap V3.
URL looks good! We're in the right place. If it doesn't look like this, DO NOT CONNECT.
Now that you are connected, you'll see your wallet ID and ETH balance in the top right corner of the Uniswap V3 UI
You'll also see that you are connected to Uniswap V3 under "Connected Sites" for that wallet:
Now we are ready to trade for GAMMA. We're going to use the ETH in our account to purchase some GAMMA, as well as pay the gas fees required for the swap.
Choose the amount of GAMMA you wish to purchase or the amount of ETH you wish to swap for GAMMA. The swap will be auto-calculated for you. In this case, we'll be purchasing 0.1 ETH of GAMMA.
Pressing the "Swap" button will prompt some special information about the swap. The white box show's the exchange rate you are getting ETH to GAMMA (and in USD). The Blue box shows slippage and price impact information. The red box shows the network fee for this purchase. This is not the gas fee, but the fee collected by Uniswap for this trade (0.3% of the purchase as indicated on the GAMMA-ETH pool.
By pressing "Confirm Swap", the Uniswap V3 user interface will go into standby and your metamask wallet will prompt you for authorization.
This is your wallet asking you to approve and sign this transaction. Note the gas fee in the black box below. These fees will be paid in ETH from your wallet.
Once you've double-checked everything, go ahead and click "Confirm". You may be prompted to go through more security steps if you are using a hardware wallet.
Your GAMMA should now show up in your Metamask Wallet!
You can do it manually by scrolling to the bottom of your Metamask wallet and adding it manually. You can search for GAMMA or you can manually add the address.
It's always a good idea to check the transaction on Etherscan. You can do this easily by going to the transaction link in your Metamask Wallet. Choose the appropriate transaction and click "View on block explorer".
You will be directed to a block explorer (Etherscan), where you will be able to view all aspects of the transaction in perpetuity.
Nice work! You are now the proud owner of GAMMA. Let's get your GAMMA staked so you can start earning fees! See the Staking Guide:
Stake GAMMA (Gamma)This is an excellent time to ensure you are at the correct URL / site. Many phishing sites use a copied interface of Uniswap V3 to trick users into connecting their wallets to a fraudulent site.
